Steps for obtaining a hearing aid
Check your eligibility and required documents
If you have Social Security benefits or Civil Servant Medical Benefits, check whether your benefits cover hearing aid expenses at sso.go.th.
Prepare the required documents, such as your ID card, medical certificates, or other relevant documents.
Consult a doctor and undergo a hearing assessment
Visit a hospital or authorized service unit to receive a hearing test.
If the doctor determines that your hearing level requires a hearing aid, they will issue a disability certificate and a prescription for a hearing aid.
Choose a hearing aid
After receiving the prescription, you can consult a specialist to select a hearing aid that suits your needs.
Try a basic hearing aid before proceeding to customization and ear mold fitting.
Receive your hearing aid
Submit all documents for verification. Once approved, you can receive your hearing aid at no additional cost according to your benefits.

Criteria and conditions for claiming hearing aids under Social Security fall under the category of prosthetics and medical devices for rehabilitation in cases of organ impairment or loss of function. Eligible individuals must be insured under Section 33 or Section 39. Benefits are granted when contributions have been paid for three consecutive months, or at least three months within the past 15 months before the month of seeking medical treatment.
